Video Footage of Usability Tests

I sometimes wonder for how many people expensive usability tests with video are really worth the extra expense, when even simple heuristic methods already bring up enough major problems. It became clear when I read what Seth Nickell said to Matthew Thomas in a discussion about Usability in Free Software:
