Discretion
Last week I attended the
Mediarena, a forum about electronic media (on- and offline). One of the most interesting talks was by
GDI's David Bosshart about how high connectivity (technologically and among people) will change our future, although I would not agree with everything
he said. One of his remarks, I liked particularly:
"Die Kernkompetenz der Schweiz ist Diskretion"
(Switzerland's core competence is discretion)
He said this, while noting that one of the trends supported by upcoming technologies (including blogs!) is increased transparency and that people will start to expect it more and more and that they will learn to do live with it.
